Homeland Security Concentration or Certificate

In response to the increased homeland security needs of our nation, EKU’s College of Justice & Safety has developed a homeland security curriculum within the Master of Science in Safety, Security & Emergency Management degree program.

This curriculum can be completed as either a concentration within the 36-hour master’s degree program or as a 12-hour certificate program which can be completed independently of the degree program.

The Homeland Security Certificate Curriculum Includes the Following Courses:

  • Homeland Security Policy Analysis
  • Critical Infrastructure Protection
  • Intelligence for Homeland Security
  • Hazards and Threats to Homeland Security

Applications must be received by the following deadlines:

  • Completing all certificate coursework in spring semester: Applications must be received by May 20
  • Completing all certificate coursework in summer semester: Applications must be received by August 20
  • Completing all certificate coursework in fall semester: Applications must be received by December 20
