Project Safety Coordinator-Dugan & Meyers LLC - Cincinnati, OH

We are actively seeking an experienced Project Safety Coordinator, preferably bilingual in Spanish, who will work on a specific project in Cincinnati, Ohio for approximately (70) weeks.
The Project Safety Coordinator reports directly to the Corporate Safety Director.
The Project Safety Coordinator is responsible for overseeing safety practices on the assigned company project.
The Project Safety Coordinator has the authority to require changes in project operations in all matters involving safety, health and environmental issues and is expected to consistently follow company procedure to ensure compliance with federal, state, local laws and regulations as well as corporate and project-specific policies.
Conduct regular project safety inspections and show a strong presence in the field.
Document project safety inspections and forward to project personnel by end of work day or next morning using established company format (Microsoft Office).
Ensure that violations noted in project safety inspection are corrected and properly documented in a timely manner.
Control hazardous working conditions and unsafe worker activities through immediate safety management actions and communication with project supervisory personnel for corrective action.
Identify and anticipate safety and health concerns and hazards by surveying the worksite conditions and work practices.
Conduct project orientations for company and subcontractor personnel new to the project.
Coordinate, conduct and track project safety and health training activities.
Assist project personnel with investigation and reporting of all worksite incidents involving injury, near-miss, equipment and/or property damage.
Recommend potential procedures on how to prevent future incidents.
Assist with development of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Worker’s Identification of Safety Hazards (WISH).
Lead project personnel in properly conducting stretches each day per the company Stretch & Flex Program.
Assist with oversight of subcontractor safety, health and environmental issues on projects. Properly document and submit necessary information to subcontractor’s management personnel.
Assist in maintaining the project-specific copy of Safety Data Sheets and other hazardous chemical information, publications, and materials to distribute to field personnel and others as required by Hazard Communication Standard and other regulations/policies.
Oversee completion and tracking of project safety information.
Check project First Aid Kit inventory weekly, clean and re-stock first aid kits as needed.
Properly manage and report time spent each day using established company format (Excel).
Perform additional assignments as directed by Corporate Safety Director.
The Project Safety Coordinator must demonstrate a positive, pro-active attitude to help motivate and inspire teamwork with all employees and co-workers and strive to achieve company goals that maintain leadership in focusing on the work environment, education, training, and safety recognition.
The Project Safety Coordinator must continually seek innovative ways to build upon our core safety values. To perform this job successfully, this individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and must demonstrate excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
The Project Safety Coordinator must have own personal transportation, a valid drivers’ license and live less than 50 miles from the Downtown Cincinnati, Ohio area. Ability to speak and translate into Spanish the current company safety policies and training materials is preferred.
At times, the Project Safety Coordinator may be required to bend, stoop, crawl, or lift objects up to 50 pounds. This individual must be physically able to negotiate the difficult conditions often encountered on the projects. This includes the occasional need to climb steep stairs, ladders, ride in scissor lifts and aerial lifts, and work in hot/cold environments.
Education & Experience:
Requirements include a four-year college degree or two years occupational safety/health training with at least three years construction experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. OSHA 30-Hour Training for the Construction Industry is required.
A thorough understanding of, and the ability to interpret and enforce, federal, state and local laws and regulations, as well as corporate policy is required. Ability to recognize hazardous situations and behaviors, then implement corrective measures is essential.
Excellent skill in the use of computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.

Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator
Large USA owned multi-national corporation is expanding their EHS staff and needs an individual with a strong focus on Safety.
This individual will report to the Human Resources Manager and have first line responsibility for Safety in the facilities. Experience with federal, state and local regulations are required as well as demonstrated success in reducing claims for lost time accidents and worker injuries. This individual will work closely with manufacturing leadership as well as HR for training and work place modifications.
Experience with heavy manufacturing is preferred and working with agencies such as OSHA, EPA, DENR, POTWs and local City authorities.
Experience with implementing safety, health & environmental programs to ensure safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible work environment. This includes, but not limited to LOTO, Hearing Conservation, Confined Space, Machine guarding, Fall protection, PPE, HAZ Com, SDS, Respiratory testing and fitting, evacuation and fire training.
-Candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
-5 years in the EHS role with demonstrated success in the area of safety.
-Experience must be in a manufacturing setting.
