Bio

Rick Hahn, Guest Lecturer at EKU is a retired FBI agent.  Mr. Hahn holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from De Paul University and a Master’s of Science in Safety, Security and Emergency Management from EKU.  He served in the FBI as a special agent from 1973 to 1999 during which time he worked terrorism investigations as a field agent and as an explosive and hazardous devices examiner in the FBI Laboratory Explosives Unit.  He also served as the senior supervisor in the FBI office in Long Beach, California.  Following his FBI career he operated his own consulting service through which he taught and developed curriculum for the U.S. Department of State Anti-Terrorism program.  He also consulted with private and public entities providing risk management and vulnerability assessment services.   

He is the author of two unpublished books on the history of the Fuerzas Armadas de Liberacion Nacional (FALN) of Puerto Rico.  He has written articles for trade magazines including The Counter-Terrorist magazine.  He has also appeared as a terrorism analyst on MSNBC and Fox news.
